People search for something with some words, phrases, or sentences. Recognizing these elements is our priority. Finding these keywords and giving them to the writer is our duty.
Understand what people really want
This is one of the most important steps while making a content brief. Understanding what people are trying to find is to be a concise information provider.
- Search on Google: Type your keyword and see the top results.
- Analysing: What do you see? Are they looking for some information? Do they want to visit a website? Do they want to buy something?
Communicate with the writer: Tell them that people are searching for this type of content, and please write in line with the intention I have provided.
Content’s structure
A clear article structure can help speed up to creation of content and much more chances of success.
- Title: Include the primary keyword in the title of the article naturally.
- Headings: Use heading tags(h1,h2,h3…..) as per requirement.
- Other details: Apply bullet points, numbered lists, and FAQs as needed.
Provide extra details
Give extra effort to collect some data that helps to get an accurate and quality result.
- Give the best example: Provide some ranked websites’ links to the writer, saying our content must be like this. Tell the writer to cover everything and also include some extra information that they missed out.
- Tone & Style: Explain how you want to sound. Friendly? Professional? Expert?
Prepare SEO to-do lists
This is the most important step. To rank on a search engine, SEO is very important.
- Meta description: When searching for something on the search engine underneath the link, we can see a 2-3 page summary of our article that describes what the user will get inside our article. Which is really important, so that tell writer to create a catchy meta description.
- Image alt text: Appropriate alt text can help to rank the image on search engines. Tell the writer to put the primary keyword in the alt text naturally.
- Optimizing links

- Internal Links: It helps users to visit all web pages. That means the user experience improves.

- Article length: Give them a clear explanation of how long the content is.
- Clear Call to action(CTA): Tell him to apply the call to action in the appropriate part of the article. These can be subscribing, sharing, or buying.
Give a clear explanation of the project
- Deadline: When to submit the project?
- Who to contact: Who should be the person if the writer wants to ask questions?
- How to contact: In what way can the writer submit the project? Like through Google Docs, email… etc.

The content brief is the bridge between us and the writer. A clear explanation helps us to stay on the same side. That saves time and unnecessary effort, also replaces confusion. A Perfect combination of both sides will give many more possibilities of success.
